ABOUT

Chia-Chi Hsu has collaborated with international musicians including flautists Peter-Lukas Graf, Robert Aitken, Trevor Wye, Robert Aitken, Shigenori Kudo, Amy Porter, Sharon Bezaly, Judith Mendenhall, Karl Kraber, Philippe Bernold, Loïc Schneider, Vincent Lukas, Sarah Louvion, Julliette Hurel, Gaby Pas-Von Riet, Andrea Oliva, Sheng-Qi He, Ta Jin, Yong Ma; violinist Mayuko Kamio; clarinetists Karl Leister, Dominique Vidal, Lei Fan, and Kenji Matsumoto; oboeists Mårten Larsson and Diethelm Jonas; guitarist Shin-ichi Fukuda; tenor Justin Lavender and John Ken Nuzzo; soprano Sumi Jo and Sussana Rigacci.

 

Graduated from National Taiwan Academy of Arts, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance from Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, studying under the tutelage of Vera Danchenko and Ellen Mack. Hsu has also collaborated with Thomas Grubb as his piano assistant for 9 years, receiving extensive coaching on French vocal literature. Hsu recieved Peabody Opera Accompanying scholarship and Clara Asherfeld Award in accompanying. In 2001, she received Best Accompanist Award in German Lieder Competition in Taiwan.
